Network Design and Installation
Johnson Associates Systems personnel have extensive LAN design skills, capable of designing both Token Ring and Ethernet LANs, as well as WANs. Cabling system skills include all activities associated with the design, installation, and on-going support of cabling distributions systems for voice, data, video, and imaging communications technologies. Site preparation, audits of existing systems, testing, and certification are some of the services JASystems can provide. All design and implementation is in accordance with federal and industry standards, including EIA/TIA 568A, BICSI, NEC, NFPA/IEEE, and Category 5 Systems TSB 36/40.
All design work that JASystems accomplishes is the result of an initial on-site survey, to review the building specifications in detail. From this survey, complete physical, logical designs along with Cable Plant design are analyzed using our automated CAD system. JASystems' experience includes utilization of a variety of routers, hubs, bridges, and cable products. JASystems supports a wide range of network products as follows: .
IBM Type 1 (Shielded Twisted Pair), Unshielded Twisted Pair, Coaxial Cable, Fiber - Single and Multi-mode, Cabletron, Chipcom, Cisco, Bay Networks, Ungerman-Bass, 3 COM
Design capabilities range from the basic single LAN, to multi-floor and campus network design. JASystems is capable of installing complete networks ranging from the UTP copper to fiber installation.
Network Operating Systems
JASystems has experience with major network operating systems, principally Novell, although we also possess Banyan Vines and NT skills. Our expertise in Novell is the result of installing over 200 Novell based LANs, insuring a CNE technical base of expertise, and providing a broad range of support services to include:
Installation, Operation, and Maintenance, Security Customization, Connectivity, LAN Management Administration, Software Updates.
Wide Area Networking
Increasingly important today is the role of the Wide Area Network in federal organizations. The ability to move data quickly and effectively across enterprise geographies has become critical as LAN end users demand more services. JASystems can address wide area networks (WANs) including requirements for: OSI, TCP/IP, X.25, SNA, ATM, IPX/SPX, Netbios, DECNet, Vines.
JASystems experience in the design, implementation, and support of complex WANs enables our firm to provide superior services to our customers, insuring high integrity networks for enterprise networking requirements. JASystems maintains skills in a variety of hardware and software solutions including:
Cisco/Bay Networks Netview/6000, IBM 3745/3172/3174 Controllers, SUNNet Manager
Additionally, design and support services are available for the implementation of a variety of similar and evolving environments such ATM and Frame Relay, and for linking to open networks such as the Internet.
JASystems is determined to maintain pace with the industry by delivering quality services and products related to these numerous wide-area networking environments. Our staff of networking professional maintains training on current and evolving technologies to ensure our customers are aware of their many options and their implication to the requirements at hand.
